About
Self-Care Library

Who are we, and what do we do?

Self-Care Library is a free, volunteer-run library of self-care interventions grounded in psychological science.

Information on taking care of our physical health is everywhere. When it comes to maintaining your mental health, accurate and detailed information can be a lot harder to come by. Should we be meditating? Quitting social media? Is a face-mask/warm bath combo even science? We're trying to make things less complicated and bring the evidence-based goods to you.

To be clear, we're not clinical psychologists. We might be one day, but for the moment we are graduates from the undergraduate component of a longer psychology research and clinical journey. The content on this site is not made up of personal clinical recommendations, but it is made up of advice that has been gathered from the array of scientific papers that we have access to. We will always reference our content, so if you aren't sure on any of our points, feel free to check out where it's come from and make up your own mind - better yet, if there's anything you're unsure of, let us know and we'll check it out for you.

This has been founded in the coronavirus epidemic as a lot of individuals are now finding themselves isolated and vulnerable. We hope that this information is useful to you, and helps you craft some self-care routines that can be used to maintain your wellbeing through this time, and through any future stressors.

Best wishes from the team at Self-Care Library.
